Ride the Rocket
Recently, my World History class has been discussing exploration. From people like Columbus and other early adventure seekers, to more modern participants in the Space Race between Russia and th eUnited States.
It was determined that everyone explores for the three G's: Glory, God and Gold. Individuals also explore for the adventure and thrill, while nations explore to get ahead of each other.
We talked about the huge risks assosciated with such journeys. Columbus's sailors learned that Columbus actually had no idea how far it was to "India" (a.k.a, America. Don't get me started on Columbus). The first astronauts died before hitting the sound barriar.
We were given one question.
WOULD YOU RIDE THE ROCKET?
Would you risk losing everything to explore the new frontier?
Suprisingly, only two people said yes.
Was I one of them?
What do you think?

Honestly...my very 1st response: Hell yes, she'd ride the rocket!!!
After a few moments of pondering the Q in a bit more depth, I have to say it gave me pause.....? Why, you ask? Hilly LOVES LIFE too much to 'risk everything.' You are not a thrill-seeker. But, you are open to just about anything...esp if it involves new and distant worlds.
Were you 1 of the 2 who replied 'yes?' I'd say (w/ 85% certainty) that, indeed, you were.

*sigh* I wish that I could say that I would be willing to risk everything. But I'm really not... *long sigh*

I think that you would ride the rocket. But I would not. Please ride the rocket for your mom . But your mom wouldn't ride the rocet. Because she might puke. That would be nasty. Two more question's: one, are you sometimes on the computer at night, because your mom says that you are sometime's on the computer. And how are you doing in school? What do you do? And the last one, do you do a lot of homework, or you don't have any homework sometime's . And the very very last one I premise that this is the last one. Do you have any friends around you do you have any in school?
