Tips for a Long Flight
For all those fantastic people (coughcoughMomandJess) who will be soon embarking on the flight to Viet Nam, I have attempted with relative success to compile a list of tips to make the flight more bearable. Anyone who so desires may of course comment with suggestions of their own!
Hillary
~Bring music!!! Lots and lots of music. It can help you sleep, of pass time. Books on tape work well too. Incidentally, Anansi Boys, which I have not yet read but is by a great author (Neil Gaiman) is sitting, I believe, near my CD player. If you bring that here, I can relieve you of it. Haha, I'd love to listen to it, but you should too. That was a really long run-on. Ooooh well.
Anne
~Toddlers sleep well on the floor. So skip the seat for them. If they sleep well, you will sleep well.
Lonny
~I just like to eat.
*the kid has a point. There is a lot of eating on an airplane. If you are on EVA air, the food is even edible. Haha.
I love flying. Aside from just the feeling of soaring through the clouds, there's also jsut the feeling of complete and total relaxation. You are not expected to do anyhting, to be anywhere, or to rush. Long flights can get dull, but I love it. Bring something you really have been meaning to do, but just never got around to because you have no time. On a plane, you have all the time in the world.
So my trans-continental fliers, get ready! The flight and three days are all that stand between me and your arms!! prepare to be hugged like CRAZY when you arrive, slightly discombobulated (sp?) in Viet Nam. I am SOOOOOOOO excited that you are coming! And that Uncle Stevie and Kevin are here already! WOOHOO!!!!

Hi Sweetie!
Thanks for all the flying tips (pass our extended thanks to Anne and Lon). I'm headed to the library for books on tape. I've already packed (in carry-on) the Anansi Boys.
I, too, am looking forward to the long flight. Thanks for the tips.
The bonus comes when I spot you in the crowd! So.....push (gently, of course) Pete out of your way...here we come!!!
Love you madly! See you in 3 days.
i can't wait for your mom and brother to get here!!! i'm SO EXCITED TO MEET THEM!!! =D
oh and a personal favourite to bring on the airplane, if you need more tips, is to bring a sketchpad.. heh... i can't go for hours like that without drawing SOMETHING. oh and bring a sweater or jacket because it gets cold.. and know that your hair gets all staticy so i would recommend putting it up or something if you dislike static as much as i do. haha. and carrying on deoderant always helps. it makes you feel that much more refreshed... and personally i bring an extra shirt. nothing special, just a tshirt that i can change into to feel as fresh as possible for 24 hours without a shower... =/
well those are my tips.. let me know if they help any. =] and DEFINATELY TONS OF MUSIC! =D i agree one hundred percent with you hillary.
i love you! oh and i have to show you a drawing and i have to talk to you tomorrow =D

Dear Numb
I, too, am looking forward to meeting you!! Thanks for all of your flying tips. I had most covered (clean shirt, deoderant), however, the hair-tip was the best!! Staticky (emphasis on 'icky')hair annoys the stuff out of me (see Hilly, I can curb my language when necessary)and I hadn't thought of it, so thanks.
Oh, I've decided to put Jess in with the luggage. I need peace and he needs to be.........stuffed!!
See you both in 2 days!!!
Hahahaa speaking of food, did I ever tell you that when I was coming back from Scotland, they gave us food almost as soon as we got on the plane... And I was allergic to something in it, so I had hives the entire time. Ugh, it was terrible. But on the plus side, the food had been yummy. x]
I also find that chewing gum helps with take-off and landing, with the pressure. I don't know if it'll help anyone else, though.
Ha yessss, flying is exhilarating. But I don't think I just spelled that correctly. XD
I love you! =]]
