"What a way to spend a day..."
That's from tick, tick...BOOM, in case you wondered. Jonathan Larson. Oh come on, he wrote RENT!
Anyway, my favorite time of day in Ho Chi Minh City is definitley twilight. When the sun is just below the horizon...so the air has cooled down, but it's light enough to see...great for biking. You wear a tank top and light cotton shorts...and helmet of course..haha..and then just..ride. You feel the wind caressing your bare shoulders (and no, there's no better word than "caress"). It's heaven. Aaah...
Yesterday Sol and I went out at just that time to go to Pizza Inn to order dinner. I loved it. THe ride, I mean. The pizza was good, but not good enough to blog about!
What else did I do yesterday...? Uuh...oh! Lonny and I rode home Vietnamese style with him on th eback of my bike. It was great. People didn't stare any less (weird Americans), but it was cute.
Gotta go..sin-chow! (Spelling? eh. This word is like "shalom", it means hello and goodbye.)

Just so long as that's all that's 'caressing' your bare shoulders!
The twilight sounds indeed like a lovely time of day. I can easily picture you (and your bare shoulders...I'm NOT perseverating!)gliding through the streets of a city unfamiliar to me, apart from your (and Pete's) continuous attempts to describe the scenes and feels, which, by the way, you (both) do so well that I sometimes do truly think I could almost be there w/ you.
I'm esp glad that you're back to enjoying biking. Make sure that helmet's nice and snug under your chiny-chin-chin!
I arrived at sch about an hour ago. Our time is 11:00. We had a 2 hour delay for COLD!!!! I know, you can't imagine that in your present location. But I'm sure you remember the wild and wacky ways of WV. Some things don't change.
My students have offered this in response to the Q "What might Hilly be doing right now?"
Roy says, "She better be sleeping! It's LATE!" I ask him to think on what day it is. Yes, Friday.
Dillon reminds us you are 16 and it's not a school night. "She's probably still awake. Maybe out or playing a board game. But I don't think she's sleeping."
Chelsea offers, "Maybe she's swimming!" They viewed the sch on the web page. All went crazy when they saw the pool. When I informed them that Anne has keys to the kingdom, they inferred that you could swim whenEVER you want. So tell us, CAN you go for a late-night swim?
Must return to my work. It is a short day for us. Cold, you know!
I love you. Sin-chow! (I like it!)
