Just Another Rainy Saturday
"Just a day, just an...ordinary day" ~ I don't know what song that's from, but it fits.
Today was...calm. That's the word. Because of...circumstances not entirely beyond my control...school has become a bit crazy. It burns too much energy. Not whining, stating a fact.
It was truly a blessing to wake up after a dreamless sleep to find that it was SATURDAY! I could sleep as long as I wanted and do almsot whatever I wanted all day. After finally getting out of bed, I had cold pizza and Honey nut Cheerios for breakfast. Anne and Pete were going to look at a house in An Phu (a HCMC district about 25 minutes away) so I was on kid duty. No worries...yet.
I talked to Mom for awhile, then she and I both had to go accomplish things, so I set the kiddies in front of a movie and found a cookie recipe. I love to make cookies. It's fun, esay, and rewarding. Even if these kids are majorly ticked at me, when they see me battling to turn the oven on (it's one of those push the sparker, wait for it to heat, let go, watch it go out, start over 10 million times things) they ask what I'm makin gand ho wlong it will take. They are the first to enjoy. I like watching the kids enjoying something I do.
~~~~~~Interlude~~~~~~
This is not well written. It leaves a lot to be desired, but I felt like writing. you can quit here if you want. I won't be insulted. Much. Haha.
Anyway, after solving a few domestic disputes, i retreated to my room and the AC to read Warlock. Very good by the way. I wiled away about an hour before I texted Amanda. We are doing a joint book report and we need to finish it. So we had to get together today.
That was fun. We just hung out for about a half an hour; she was reading the book, I was working on m report. then we took a break and listened to Phantom of the Opera. A great CD. Then we just talked for awhile about lots of things including a book we are thinking of writing together. We tossed around ideas...not much to report just yet.
Then we headed t Jackie's for a movie night. When I told Anne where we were going she said "If-no, when you decide that you don't want to be there anymore, call me and I'll come pick you up on the motorbike." I lasted slightly under two hours.
Now I am home listening to the rain. It's not heavy enough to be soothing...*sigh*
It's just another rainy Saturday...
I had fun w/ Ha Le trying to get her teach me how to turn on the stove top! I don't appreciate too many things that go POP, esp those items associated w/ flame!! I do believe she was attempting to hold back her laughter at my chicken-baby-ness.
Please save me a cookie. (as if!! with that crowd!!)
Love you madly!!!
